Irukka Online Powers World’s Biggest dome
A Nigerian musical equipment retail company, Irukka Online Limited, has made history by powering the biggest dome in the world. The 100,000 sitting capacity auditorium belongs to Dunamis Church and is located in Abuja, prior to the construction of the Abuja dome, St Peter’s Basilica in Rome with 60,000 sitting capacity was the biggest in the world.
Speaking recently on the gigantic project, the chairman of Irukka Online, Ifeanyi Onwubiko, said that powering the dome was a feat because it defied many electronic companies both within and outside Nigeria who were invited for a trial, according to him, Irukka Online boasts of a top-notch team of sound engineers as well as sold musical equipment that makes impossibility to be possible.
He said that after the construction of the auditorium, the general conclusion was that no company in Nigeria would have the capacity to power it. Onwubiko said that it was for that reason that many electronics companies from Europe and America were invited for trial but they all failed. According to him, Irukka Online Ltd used the opportunity to prove to the world that Nigerian companies can succeed where their western counterparts fail.
He commended the General Overseer of Dunamis Church, Pastor Paul Eneche, for giving Irukka Online Ltd the opportunity to prove to the world that Nigerians could be first among equals when it comes to technology and sound engineering. According to him, what gave him the confidence to go for the job was because Irukka Online deals with the best music equipment brands in the world
His words: “I am very happy that Irukka Online Ltd has made Nigeria in particular and Africa in general proud by powering the biggest dome in the world. Many sound companies were invited both within and outside the country to power the sound system in the church but they failed. The reason is that there is no place in the world with such a huge capacity. So, that we were able to provide the sound system in such a dome was technology at its best. There is no doubt that it was tough. It gave us sleepless nights. But we believe in the philosophy of Biblical Samson, which is, out of the strong comes to honey. The sleepless nights brought out the best in us and we have shown to the world what we can do. What gave us the confidence to vie for the job is our musical equipment. We deal with top music equipment brands in the world. So, I was very sure that we would not be disappointed.”
According to Onwubiko, the singular accomplishment by Irukka Online has helped to restore confidence in Nigeria sound engineers as it has started to generate a lot of positive commentaries across the world. He appealed to government and other Nigerians to emulate Pastor Eneche by developing trust and confidence in Nigeria companies and sound engineers and begin to give them opportunities.
According to him, Nigeria is now poverty capital of the world is simply begin indigenous firms are not given opportunities to exhibit their skills and competences. He said when foreign companies are patronized, they take the money to their countries while indigenous firms like Irukka Online that uses its own resources to develop content and capacity for Nigerians would be left in the cold.
